Proudly serving Ocean County for over thirty two years, The Octopus’s Garden has been pleasing the palates of seafood and fresh fish lovers for many years. Originally located on Long Beach Island, The Octopus’s Garden opened its doors for the first time in 1977.

On any given night, guests choose from at least six to eight different types of fresh fish from all over the world, some caught locally and some caught from around the globe, but what they all have in common is our straight forward healthy preparations. No butters or creams are used in our kitchen, but rather fresh earthy broths and herbs for a simple back to basics style of cooking. Our menu changes daily which allows us to purchase the freshest fish available. Choose perhaps a Key West Amberjack with a citrus risotto or Brazilian Corvina with wasabi mashed potatoes.

Or maybe an Australian Baramundi sounds good with some fresh rosemary, capers and a hint of garlic. It’s not unusual for our menu to offer fish from as far away as Fiji or even Africa. But if it’s local fish that you crave, our ever popular Sesame Seared Tuna, or Panko Crusted Tilefish are sure to entice.

Of course we also offer a large variety of shellfish including our famous “Lobster Night Special”. Enjoy a 1 ½ pound steamed whole Maine Lobster served with your choice of New England or Manhattan Clam Chowder, a choice of a house or Caesar salad, and a choice of potato….But make a reservation because it gets BUSY!

Scallops are a house specialty and have been our signature dish since our first year in business. If you like Sea Scallops, order them here, they will not disappoint. Shrimp, always popular, is available as Tempura, Coconut, Scampi, or Panko Crusted.

For those who are not fond of fish, there are a variety of alternatives. Choose from a Fresh Cut New York Strip Steak, Roast Long Island Duckling, Grilled Rack of Lamb, Tenderloin Steak Diane, or a number of Chicken dishes. A separate Vegetarian and Vegan Menu is available upon request. Who knew that Tofu could taste so good! Try our Coconut Tofu with a plum dipping sauce for a change of pace. Saving room for dessert is a must. All are homemade from old family recipes. Classics such as our Black and White Cake, Pecan Pie, Hot Apple Lasagna and the ever popular Toll House Pie, are proven crowd pleasers. Indulge!!

Please feel free to bring your own wine or beer to accompany your Meal!

Your Hosts,
Peter & Christine Russo
